Dutch Militia – Black Brigade propaganda stamp
Original paper propaganda stamp of the Dietsche Militie – Zwarte Brigade, the paramilitary organization of the Flemish National Union (VNV) during World War II. These stamps were used on letters, pamphlets, and internal documents, and also served as propaganda material distributed within Flanders.
The seal measures approx. 4 × 6 cm and shows a orange shield with the black Wolfsangel , the Black Brigade's identifying mark. At the top is:
The Dutch Militia – Black Brigade ,
with the characteristic battle cry at the bottom:
“HOU-ZEE!”
Such paper stamps are extremely scarce today. Unlike textile sleeve shields, these small propaganda stickers were often used, discarded, or damaged, meaning only a small number of examples survived the war and postwar period. This makes original, well-preserved pieces like this one highly sought after by collectors of collaborationist materials and WWII documentation.
Condition:
The seal is in good condition The colors are bright, the print is sharp and there are no cracks or missing parts For a paper object over 80 years old, this is an exceptionally well-preserved example.
An attractive, rare and historically interesting propaganda object from the Flemish collaboration movement.
